Hello Stepp’n Out Member,

Join us as we set off to Florida’s Gulf Coast city of TARPON SPRINGS. The city is enriched by the Mediterranean heritage brought at the turn of the century, by Greek sponge divers and their families. We will start our day with a wonderful sightseeing cruise down the Anclote River where you may see dolphins playing and Ospreys in flight. After the cruise enjoy an authentic Greek cuisine lunch at Yiannis Restaurant! The rest of the afternoon is yours to wander at your leisure through the wonderful boutiques and gift shops of the downtown area. You can also visit the Sponge Factory and Museum, included in your package!

Yiannis Restaurant:

We offer the same authentic Greek style cooking in a new euro-style restaurant. Visit us and see for yourself why our food and cooking style have lasted for so many years in the heart of a Greek village named the Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks.

Review: Easily one of, if not THE best Greek place in the area. Yianni's is a moderately sized restaurant that sits in a strip mall off Mantoloking Road, in a space that was previously occupied by Skillets Fresh Grill. For the space they have, the decor is pretty nice - a cobblestone floor, white brick walls, and photos of Greece adorn the walls. Staff here are friendly, and considering how bad inflation is right now - prices are very affordable, a plus! The food is just fantastic; I've had their classic gyro a few times now, and it blows away any competition in the area. Just today I had the pork kebab sandwich with a side of Greek fries, and no surprise - it's also fantastic. Another highlight was the avgolemono soup which was perfectly balanced between the sour lemon and savory chicken / egg notes. Even the pita bread here is perfectly cooked and seasoned. Well worth it if you're in the area and want something different than the usual. Great prices along with fantastic food means I'll be back here again and again to try their other offerings. Don't drive by, well worth a stop in!

Special pricing, this trip usually costs $109.00 Per Person but Stepp’n Out Club Members will only be paying $100.00 Per Person for this trip!

As of 2000, Tarpon Springs had the highest percentage of Greek Americans of any city in the US, with 10.4% of residents who had Greek ancestry.
