Hello Diners,
We continue our Global exploration with our Around the World search by cuisine. December, we celebrate the Mexican cuisine with a visit to La Fiesta Mexicana in Haines City.
La Fiesta Mexicana is a family-owned restaurant with the goal to deliver authentic Mexican food inspired by the food the owners, Zaide, Mirella, and Ivan, grew up eating in the south of Mexico. Their goal has been to serve food from scratch starting with their fresh handmade tortillas and original salsa made in-house.

Reviews:
Dinner tonight at La Fiesta Mexicana. We have been several times; the food is always good, and the service can vary. We started with their very fresh tortilla chips with their home-made salsa - very mild and fresh. The we ordered the Fiesta Sampler which comes with two chicken tamales, two chicken flautas and cheese quesadilla - all very good, lots of flavor and I enjoy their guacamole sauce. I ordered the mixed fajitas which have chicken, steak, and shrimp over a bed of grilled onion and green bell peppers with corn tortillas - perfectly cook I wish they took the shrimp tail off.
Our server Diana was very friendly and professional - she sorts a forgot our check for a while, which she clearly had thought she had brought - so we had a little wait for the check, but she apologized, and all was good.
Good quality food, good service and very clean.
My husband & I ate lunch today (8/5) at La Fiesta Mexicana in Haines City - in strip mall off Rt 27. Concerned with some of the reviews but decided to try and overall, we thought food & service was pretty good. However, I did not like the refried beans. Unusual salsa but had a good taste if I avoided the cilantro (I’m someone who thinks cilantro tastes like soap).
I did not try their house margaritas but was told that after 3 pm until ? they are Bogo.
It was a bit noisy - tile floor no carpet - so next time I will wear my eargasms. Disclosure - I have a hearing disability so noisy restaurants are not my thing.
Score: 4 out of 5 so we would return. Everyone has their own food preferences so I would suggest folks give La Fiesta a chance.
I always recommend La Fiesta Mexicana in Haines City. We haven’t ordered from there for a hot minute for some reason. That changed today.
My husband ordered Fiesta Burrito Ranchero. I ordered my favorite, their house made Cheese Chili Relleno, the best I have personally ever had.
Everything was delicious. Felt a bit cheated with the amount of refried beans I received, they were as great as the rest of the meal.
We failed to order some chips and salsa 😢, again the best salsa I have ever tasted. We won’t forget next time.
