About this event

Deer Island Country Club (semi-private). Deer Island is a hidden gem and the top-rated course in the area by Orlando Golf Network. The course is situated on the secluded 400-acre Deer Island, amidst the Harris Chain of Lakes part of Oklawaha River Basin and is Central Florida’s only island golf course. Deer Island offers breathtaking views of Lake Dora and Lake Beauclaire, making this a paradise for golfers and nature lovers. The course is Par 72 with tees ranging from 4,215 to 6885 yards, making it fun for every level of golfer. The course was designed by renowned golf architect Joe Lee. It is known as one of the jewels in “Gentleman” Joe Lee’s design crown over 250 total courses. His courses make golfers smile. Undulating greens, strategically-located visible hazards and unique bunkers are part of his trademark design — all are realized here on Deer Island as it carves its way through the environmentally-protected Florida wetlands. Joe Lee designs (both solo and with Dick Wilson) include Abacoa in Jupiter, Bay Hill, Hawks Landing, Disney Magnolia and Palm, Ballenisles in Palm Beach, Cog Hill in Lemont IL, La Costa, in Carlsbad CA, and Doral Blue Monster in Miami. Green fee is $69 per player. We played there annually for 7 years, but not for the last 3. Excited to be back.
